Another great article Ken. When you lay it out so clearly its impossible not to see the effects of corruption. If it was classified properly it's hard to imagine the current level of advertising (at least without the warnings read, wouldn't that be fun) and the "dispensaries" would become more regulated, etc.
But really, even though you quoted the alcohol addiction rate properly, at its root its about the lack of sobriety in our nation as a whole. Alcohol is only one of the ways that we have at our disposal to try to change the way we feel rather than learning to be present with our emotional experiences (even if it doesn't rise to the level of a disorder).
